Chiens de Paris

It's Bastille Day. We had a deliciously chic dinner and then sat chicly at a cafe awaiting the start of the fireworks. Pretty spectacular, with the Eiffel Tower outlined in white twinkling lights.
Spent the afternoon at the Musee D'Orsay. Walked endlessly.
My dogs are barking!!
Pictured (yay!) is my main course of veal and roasted potatoes-- superbe!

Menerbes

It's frustrating not to be able to attach photos. Menerbes is where our hotel is but we had not visited the actual little town until today. Spectacularly beautiful and charming. Impossibly so, in fact. So all the more sorry not to add a visual.
Tomorrow we get on the TGV for Paris. So, au revoir Provence.
I recommend it. I would like to return.

Mercredi

Today we plan a drive to St. Remy ( it is market day there) and Arles. The weather is again perfect if you like spotless blue skies and sun sparkling off every surface. It's no wonder painters are drawn ( get it?) here. The light really is something remarkable.
Another lovely breakfast in the open air, but the food is all laid out in the kitchen, a photo of which I will try to attach.
Nope-- could not attach here. Sorry.

Correction

I bet it's "nouvelles" espadrilles.

Photo for previous post

Photos are having a very hard time attaching. That's why I may not post much more here

Mes nouveaux espadrilles

Purchased at market day in Gordes. Ridiculously sunny, charming, picturesque, and aromatic of cheese, herbs, beautiful apricots and peaches, and lavender. Travel tip: don't attempt to parallel park a rental SUV with standard transmission in a slightly too small spot on a steep, narrow, crowded street on market day in Gordes.

Goodie Bag

The pleasures of business class are enhanced when one is a travel rube.

Admirals Club

Natch.

Perfect end to a magical day

More good luck for the bride and groom: the wedding guest whose anniversary it is encountering Paul McCartney on the sidewalk as she walks back to her hotel at the end of a beautiful evening.

You know what they say

It's good luck to be a clue in the New York Times crossword puzzle the day before your wedding.

I'm on a train

Every journey begins with a train.
--not a saying

Ours started with a taxi ride, but I didn't take a photo of the driver. He was very friendly.
